Kerry & Phil's Wedding

My website: Wedding Photographers in Kent

A selection of images from Kerry and Phil's wedding on Friday at Cooling Castle. Please check out their wedding gallery.

HDR (-2, 0, +2), f/6.4, ISO 200, 16mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

Shooting HDR held some detail in the sky. Alas those clouds weren't around for very long. It was full-on, harsh sunshine for the rest of the day.

HDR (-2, 0, +2), f/6.4, ISO 200, 16mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

1/200, f/6.3, ISO 640, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

The groom and his groomers photographed on some shady steps. Because I'm quite close to them I've had to stop down to keep them all in focus.

1/200, f/2.8, ISO 200, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

Even nicer light under the shade of a tree. Negative exposure compensation (EC) due to the dark tones in the background.

1/250, f/4, ISO 400, ‒ ⅓ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/60, f/4, ISO 800, ‒ ⅓ EV, 23mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

1/100, f/2.5, ISO 640, ‒ ⅓ EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

1/80, f/1.6, ISO 200, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

I hope that's just a half he's ordering.

1/250, f/2.5, ISO 200, 0 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

That is one cool-looking grandad.

1/200, f/2.8, ISO 200, 0 EV, 29mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

The bride and her pater arrive.

1/200, f/4, ISO 50, ⅓ EV, 33mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

An establishing shot of the bride and her entourage. Where's a nice soft fluffy cloud when you need one?

1/400, f/2, ISO 50, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

I found a little patch of open shade to get a shot of the bride in softer light.

1/160, f/2.8, ISO 640, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

I instructed my minder to destroy his memory card.

1/80, f/2.8, ISO 1250, 0 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

1/80, f/2.8, ISO 1600, ⅓ EV, 20mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

Fortunately he was not sporting a Kenny G chest wig.

1/160, f/4, ISO 500, 0 EV, 16mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

The entrance of the bride with her father ready to catch.

1/200, f/1.8, ISO 640, ²⁄₃ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/250, f/1.4, ISO 800, 2 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

I went for the maximum allowable EC when shooting in aperture priority mode of +2 stops. If this had not been enough I'd have had to shift to manual mode.

1/160, f/2, ISO 800, 0 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

1/800, f/2.8, ISO 50, ‒ 1 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

Even at this early age the Canon-Nikon decision has been made.

1/3200, f/2.8, ISO 50, ‒ 1 EV, 16mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

1/320, f/4, ISO 50, ‒ ⅓ EV, 35mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

With careful positioning you can get away with shooting in direct sunlight.

1/500, f/2.5, ISO 50, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

But a bit of open shade is always preferable, particularly for close-ups.

1/1000, f/1.4, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

Back to the lovely shady spot under the trees for a few portraits.

1/640, f/1.4, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/500, f/1.4, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/320, f/2.2, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/500, f/1.4, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/800, f/1.4, ISO 250, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/250, f/2, ISO 50, 0 EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

1/320, f/4, ISO 200, ‒ 1 EV, 29mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

1/800, f/2.8, ISO 200, ‒ ⅓ EV, 16mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

1/400, f/1.4, ISO 200, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/250, f/1.6, ISO 160, 0 EV, 35mm f/1.4L

1/500, f/3.5, ISO 200, ‒ 1 EV, 25mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

I'm not certain that he ever made it out of that chair.

Comments and queries are always welcome.
