The sun was shining fiercely at this point so it was into the protective custody of open shade. Ideally I'd be looking for a slightly darker background but sometimes that option is not available.

Shot under the protective canopy of a tree. I had the wedding cars just behind me so had to shoot wide. Space is often limited so having a wide angle lens in your bag is essential.

I used the new perspective correction tool in Lightroom 3 to get the steps perfectly horizontal.

I underexposed this shot to produce a silhouette. But I also liked the above treatment where I've added fill light to bring out a bit more detail.

The steps at the front of Mount Ephraim are terrific for group shots. You can control people's placement in both the horizontal and vertical axes.
