The sun shone mercilessly all afternoon. Before the ceremony the sun was high in the sky which allowed me to put the sun behind people whilst using a wide angle lens without having to worry about flare.

The ceremony took place right in front of an enormous bay window which was being blasted by sunlight. The couple had sunlight directly on them which made shooting tricky.

Look at the exposure compensation settings for both the ambient and flash light. I was in direct competition with the sun here (whilst also trying to avoid strong flash reflections in the window)!

After the ceremony the sun was too low in the sky to allow me to shoot groups into the sun using a wide angle lens (and there was nothing to easily hide the sun behind). Fortunately there was an area of open shade with lovely soft light available.
