When I went in for a close-up shot of the above pool....

Proud to be a techno nerd (me too.)

1/200, f/2, ISO 640, ‒ ⅓ EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

There may or may not be a deeper meaning here (I'm thinking of the famous jump-cut in Kubrick's 2001.)

1/100, f/3.5, ISO 400, ⅓ EV, 35mm f/1.4L

Yes, there is a surprising word on the make-up sheet above. No, I don't know why either.

1/250, f/2.2, ISO 1000, ‒ ²⁄₃ EV, 85mm f/1.2L II

Another pro on the scene. If there was going to be any aggro though I definitely had the weight advantage.

He can't tie his shoelaces either.

1/500, f/5, ISO 100, ‒ ⅓ EV, 18mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

Bouquet toss. Round 1.

1/250, f/5, ISO 400, ‒ ⅓ EV, 35mm, 16-35mm f/2.8L II

The result of poor fielding.

Bouquet toss. Round 2. Gloves off.

The lovely smile couldn't completely hide her disappointment.

Hi David Paul here in Ireland again thanks for the great blog J
Question if I may, Ok first of all I am not for one sec suggesting
that you need further training, just curious suppose you had some
excess cash and wanted to spend say £1000 on training courses.
Which classes might you like to attend? I see you are a Damien
Lovegrove fan, maybe you might drop in a few links for courses
that you think might help you at your stage with your work.
Best Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for the lovely feedback.

I would take no offence even if you thought I should go on a training course! There's always room for improvement.

I've yet to attend one but am actively considering it - though I haven't done any serious research yet so can't point you in any particular direction. I've watched most of Damien's DVDs and rate him highly. He seems very straightforward and not at all arrogant. I know that there are lots of other good educators out there too though.

This is a good topic for a future post. If you, or others, have any recommendations in the meantime please do let me know.

All the best,

David

David,

Thanks for your comments on my blog (www.matthewlemon.com/blog) about the 35mm lens. These images of yours really show off that lens at its best. Love Port Lympne - would love to shoot a wedding there.

Your blog has been an inspiration to me for a long time. Keep up the good work.

Matt
