Hannah & Matt's Wedding

My website: Wedding Photographers in Kent

A selection of images from Hannah and Matt's wedding on Saturday at St Nicholas Church, Ash and Goodnestone Park Gardens. Please check out their wedding gallery.

I spent 15 mins with Hannah before heading off to the church. Check out her fabulous Louise Brooks-style hair. Positive exposure compensation (EC) takes account of the bright background.

12:45pm. Check out the shadows - fierce, undiffused sunlight and with it being late September the sun is much lower in the sky. I try and shoot with the sun behind people whilst keeping an eye out for problems with flare.

One of the best 'first glance' shots that I've ever taken. The quality of light was acceptable but the quantity was limited. Time to crank up the ISO.

It was laughter and smiles all the way with these two during the ceremony - just the way it should be.

Father John was very relaxed and told me that he gives photographers the benefit of the doubt. If they misbehave, however, divine retribution is swiftly delivered.

I didn't hear what Father John was saying but everybody seemed to be paying very close attention.

Back out into the harsh sunlight...

...but you can get shots without strong facial shadows if you position yourself well.

Now that's what I call a smile.

I asked for a quick wave and received a roar of enthusiasm and a sea of hands. These people are ready for a good time.

Apparently Hannah used to go out clubbing in that. And no, it's not a nightie.
