I had the pleasure of photographing Caroline and Phil's wedding in Sandhurst, near Tenterden, on Saturday. The lighting conditions were quite unusual but absolutely fantastic. It was overcast giving soft, diffuse light. The disadvantage of this normally is that it's like having a giant soft box over your subjects - they're top-lit and therefore you see shadows under eyes and noses etc. On Saturday there were plenty of dark rain clouds present as well which reduced this less pleasant top-lighting effect - very useful! There was the occasional bit of rain but it had no impact on the running of the day. When I took the group shots outside somebody kindly held an umbrella over the camera so that no stray spots of rain hit the surface of the lens.
